Unless data protection measures are triggered, you can sell an authorised novel food in accordance with the conditions set out in the list. Novel Foods which were authorised prior to EU exit and are retained in GB law are included in the list of novel foods. This means that the foods don’t have a ‘history of consumption’. Novel foods are foods which have not been widely consumed by people in the UK or European Union (EU) before May 1997.
